There has been a recent surge in popularity of everyone wanting to learn more about their heritage and respective family histories, which is great! Information not shared is information lost, so it has been wonderful to see more and more deep dive into their origins. The advent of television shows, like Who Do You Think You Are? have also helped this new trend.
Of course, when it comes to family history research, the leader of the pack tends to be Ancestry.com. With a whole host of records to research between census files, military history, newspaper records, and numerous records from around the world, the site has really upped its game for its users.
Recently, as a means to link users to other relations, as well as to figure out their heritage, the company released a product called AncestryDNA. Normally it runs for $99, but they are currently running a special for $59. We understand some might be leery about handing over this vital information, and that it might not be for everyone. Full transparency though, I’ve taken the test as well as my wife, and the results we got back were fascinating. While the information did help firm up some old family stories, some new ones were learned along the way as well.
AncestryDNA contains information on over 350 regions and 2x the geographic detail of other DNA tests. This offer does exclude 3rd party reseller sites and does end on August 20, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET, and excludes taxes and shipping.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence with Ancestry or AncestryDNA, now is a great time to give the site a try. As a user of the products myself, I would be certainly more than happy to answer any questions you might have!
