While Amazon already makes it easy to order millions of products seamlessly and quickly, their Dash Button makes it even easier to order products in the blink of an eye.  Think putting the Tide button near your laundry supply for when you run out, etc.

Normally the buttons can cost $4.99 and come with a resulting $4.99 credit after using them for the first time.  Also note you do need to have a Prime membership in order to buy these buttons.  Not a Prime member yet?  You can sign up for a trial first to see if it would even be of interest to you.

In recognition of the Dash button’s second birthday, Amazon is running the below promotion:

  • Buy a Dash button for free or for $.99 with promo code: DASHBDAY
  • Still get the $4.99 credit after first use

But if you choose no-rush shipping, you’ll receive another $1 in credit toward your next purchase or rental of select Amazon Video, digital music, eBooks, apps, digital video games or digital software.

While most Dash buttons usually cost $4.99, however there are some that only cost $3.99 and will wind up being free after the promo code is utilized.

Note that the offer is only valid from March 31 through April 7, you are limited to a maximum of 3 buttons and the $4.99 credit will only hit your account after you press the button for the first time.

Amazon News: Have 5% of Your Purchases Go To Charity and Alexa Coming Soon to your iOS Device

To celebrate their #1 ranking on the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), today only, March 16, Amazon is donating 5% (10 times their usual donation rate) of the purchase price of eligible products you buy at AmazonSmile.  It’s the same shopping experience as what you get normally on the site, but the difference instead is that each purchase you make can help to support a charity of your choice.  To date, the company says that they have donated over $46 million.  At a time when many non profits and charities aren’t sure of what funds and funding they may receive down the road, now is the chance to make a pretty good impact!
Then in other news, according to VentureBeat, starting today, and soon to all iPhone users next week, you will be able to talk to Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa while using the Amazon app.  Of course, the AI assistant will be able to assist you with your shopping and tracking of those Amazon Prime orders, but it can also mimic many of the things a regular Alexa unit like the Echo can already do, such as tell jokes, provide updates about the weather, play music, control your Smart Home devices and more.

Wonder how Siri will feel about this?

UPDATE: While the Smile promotion may have ended, we here at Script-Notes would like to encourage you to still consider going this method when making purchases.  Charities can always use revenue for their causes!
